What about your profession lights you up?

As of a few months ago, I was an accounting assistant. I decided to stop because in recent years I couldn’t stop thinking about creating something my own. I had the desire to offer vintage pieces online and now it's starting to take shape. The Yomokoï site will be online soon, for now, items are available for purchase on Instagram.

On Instagram @frannfyne, I share looks that combine vintage and current pieces, for a modern and contemporary result. I'm often told that if I hadn't said a piece was vintage, no one would have noticed. This feedback furthers my desire to curate vintage and share it with others. The most rewarding part of all is if I can inspire others to take the plunge and follow their passions.

Where do you find inspiration?

My inspiration comes from quotes, encouraging words, and moments of my life. In short, slices of life that animate me, like a conversation with my small circle of friends (which has shrunk considerably over time).

What interests are a large part of your identity?

I am lucky to have been able to say to myself, stop! Stop doing what you don't like anymore. Today, I spend my time doing what I want, which is, flourishing in my field. When I feel that everything is jammed in my head, I give myself a moment, exercise, go to the park or to a local café, watch the passers-by, read the news, or listen to music or a podcast… quiet moments that I absolutely need.

Where can we find you on the weekend?

On the weekends, I can be found at the park very early on a walk or a run. Then at the greengrocer buying ingredients to make a detox juice for my little family, and a few errands for a good brunch because we are true epicureans, we love to cook.

A few weeks ago, a friend and I rented an office to get out of the house. Our office is where we store our latest vintage finds and shoot the pieces. You can also find me here on the weekends.

How do you slow down after a long week?

I come home and go to my room for 30 minutes. It’s a ritual that we have established at home. My daughter and husband do the same, each in a corner of the house going about their business or just relaxing. After thirty minutes, we meet again to tell each other about our days and cook dinner together.

What slow moments do you savor the most?

I walk home listening to music then once I walk through the door of the house, I take a few minutes, sit on the balcony with a glass of wine, a cigarette, and jazz playing in the background.

What moments bring you the most joy?

Solo trips to thrift stores and flea markets to find little vintage nuggets and imagine future customers wearing them.

Every June my family rents a small house in a quiet corner of Spain. During this period, the prices are affordable and, above all, it’s not crowded. Unfortunately, this year we were unable to travel. I miss this haven of peace because it’s one of the long-awaited moments that gives me so much joy each year.

What does mindful living look like to you?

Actively choosing who I want to be, who I want to spend time with, what I want, and what I don't want anymore. Having the ability to manage my days as I wish. Stop making knots in your brain over things, or people that aren't worth it.

What steps do you take to show up authentically?

I show up authentically through self-love. Actively loving and listening to myself, in order to better appreciate the moments with myself and others. I love people, but most of all I savor every moment I spend with my little family.

Do you have any rituals that help keep your mind clear?

I enjoy a coffee or tea, meditate, or go on a short walk. Then, I go back to work with a clear mind, an open chakra, and filled with positive energy.

What does consuming thoughtfully mean to you?

I define my priorities before buying anything. I visualize how I could wear my potential purchase with the pieces that I already have in my wardrobe. It's the same when I select items for a collaboration or partnership, I make sure to choose timeless pieces that will stand the test of time.

How did you learn to dress for yourself?

I always wanted to work in fashion, but wanting and accessing it was something else, so I started collecting fashion magazines that heavily influenced my sense of style. Unfortunately, a few years ago, 7 years to be precise, I threw away more than 20 years of magazines, Elle, Vogue, etc…. One of my biggest regrets! I’ve always dreamed of creating my own brand one day. I still remember some of the most memorable silhouettes and styles from the pages in those magazines.

I’m also influenced by the people I meet in the street who inspire me, and through movies, series, or a passage from a book.

What are you wearing when you feel the most like yourself?

Jeans or a pleated skirt paired with a white t-shirt or an oversize men's shirt with flats or high tops.

What do you love about the ZX style you chose, and how has it filled gaps in your wardrobe?

I have a classic style, but I also like to incorporate a few pops of color and prints. My choice fell on the Eugenia flat in black as it goes perfectly with my style. I know the Eugenia will give a refined touch to any outfit.
